Newcastle United have secured the signing of Anthony Gordon from Everton on a long-term deal, as manager Eddie Howe aims to maintain their push for a top-four finish. Gordon, 21, has joined the Magpies for a reported fee of 40 million pounds. The England forward sat out three days of training due to unrest as Goodison Park. Manchester United secured a 3-1 win over Reading in the FA Cup on Saturday, thanks to a spectacular performance from their Brazilian stars. Casemiro scored twice and Fred added a third with a clever flick, while Reading's Amadou Mbengue scored a consolation goal. The match was not as easy as expected for United, as they struggled to convert their many chances in the first half, and Reading almost took the lead before halftime. Despite Andy Carroll's sending off, Reading were not able to overcome the Samba magic of United's Brazilian players in the second half.    Rafael Nadal. Rafael Nadal remains on course to return to action in March after undergoing further tests on the hip flexor injury he sustained on his way out of the Australian Open. The 22-time major winner failed to defend his crown in Melbourne after losing 6-4 6-4 7-5 to world number 65 Mackenzie McDonald last week. Nadal struggled to move around the court in the closing stages of the match and revealed afterwards he had aggravated an issue he had been suffering with for a couple of days. An MRI scan showed the Spaniard had a grade two illiopsoas tear in his hip flexor, which would usually mean between six and eight weeks out of action.
